Hot and dense QCD after the LHC first running period

Abstract:
I will review the status of QCD in the conditions of high temperature and high density QCD with especial emphasis on the theoretical developments of the last years and the experimental data available from the LHC nuclear program. A large part of the talk will be devoted to the new studies of color coherence in jet evolution in the presence of a medium.
