Direct EFT approach to Higgs and Electroweak LHC data

This talk is an introduction to the use of the Higgs boson to look for new
physics. We will review the motivation for such analyses, the current LHC
sensitivity to new phenomena and future prospects to discover new physics
via the precise characterization of the Higgs properties. We will emphasize
the use of Effective Field Theories to interpret the data.
